Atomic Habits
From many people, we herd one thing constantly is to achieve something big in our life we have to be motivated highly and should do big things to get there, I was told the same, but I read this book atomic habits by James clear, and my life changed drastically. Instead of focusing on a bigger goal I started to enjoy the process, it did help me to achieve many goals rather than say changed my identity, So I want to share some important things explained in this book might help you to get what you want to and also make it enjoyable.
Why small things
matter?
we need to understand
the basic thing, it might sound cliché to many of us but if it works why not!!
To get into a roof you need to start with single steps and you should be
consistent with the process a single step might sound small but these small
things in life add up to reach bigger things. I have experienced this thing
practically, few months back I thought of a typing skill to acquire. Believe
me, I was terrific at the beginning, I took many tests online and I used to
struggle to reach 20 WPM(words per min). rather than thinking to become a
professional typist I started to see myself as a guy who loves typing and
practiced it daily for a few minutes, I didn’t give much stress to it I just
improved myself a little every day, now I almost type with speed of 80WPM I
never thought I will do it but I never focused on the goal rather my process.
Yes, believe me, whatever you want to don’t think big start with small and
improve consistently, at the end you become a person you never imagined off.
MAKE IT OBVIOUS
When you want to build a habit, you should make that habit
obvious to not have enough reasons to skip it. The best way to
stick with any habit is to associate it with pre-existing habits, for example, if
we want to do skincare daily make It associated with your pre-existing habits
such as drinking coffee in the morning, in this way you make that habit more
obvious and stick with it for a long time. here the author also talks about how
motivation is overrated while we have to focus on habits. one thing we should
understand that more than motivation we need to set our environment accordingly
to achieve our goals by habits. Pro tip doesn’t skip any habit more than two days
in a row it will make it hard to go back to the same routine easily.
MAKE IT ATTRACTIVE
It’s very important to make your habit attractive, this
makes you irritable and you fall into the loop. If you want to study for a long
session amplify it with some candles and make reading space more aesthetically pleasing to decorate your room, whatever you want to do for a long time needs this much
attention. Make it beautiful we can’t deny beautiful things in life. One way
to create some good habits is with the help of your partner or friends. go
jogging in the morning together, make a gym partner, meet people who also
love to join you in your habit this way it will help you to be motivated for
long times and keep habits going on.
MAKE IT EASY
You are less likely to follow a habit that you made
difficult to achieve in day to day life, so it is the single most important key to
build habit. Habits should take the least effort to build. The more barriers you
make less likely you will follow that habit, same applies to bad habits which
you want quite just make them difficult, keep them away, keep your phone away
from the working desk, these simple things help you more than motivate. follow a 2
min rule any habit you want to acquire do it for 2 mins daily 2 mins is not a
long time, you can trick your brain this way and eventually you start doing it
more than 2 mins.
MAKE IT SATISFYING
Our human brain wants instant gratification, this should be addressed differently, most of our habits don’t yield results immediately they take time to show the result, one-day gym won’t give you muscles, so you should give yourself some reward in turn to make your brain feel satisfied. I allow myself to watch youtube videos for 30 mins for reading of 1 hour. This way you make your habits satisfying after you complete them. Once you build the habits you don’t stop them and make yourself a person who does those good habits as daily routine this way you changed your identity, rather imagining yourself as someone who reads books daily you should imagine yourself reader, so this way you don’t have to force yourself to read, you are a reader that’s what readers do.
So the conclusion is to build habits and reach your goal with
small steps towards them, you will definitely get success to enjoy the journey more
then the goal itself.

👏 Superbly put together
