BOREDOM
One day I got bored like many of us and googled how to
get rid of boredom. There were many articles and videos. But then a thought
struck me, is boredom that bad? I
researched a bit to know more, and it seems boredom isn’t that bad, let me tell
you how.
Boredom is an emotion from which we all tend to run
away. We feel being busy all the time is a kind of badge of honor, for that
moment it does feel like we are moving forward with our life. But deep down we
are not spending time meaningfully. We fall into default systems, like our cell
phones come with default settings. We as humans have some default systems in
our life which need some modifications. when you waiting in line for food or
money, waiting for your date to show up, waiting in the classroom for
professors. What will you do? the most likely answers we get are to take out the
phone and watch something or play some games, nobody wants to get bored.
When you are bored your mind wanders and does not
concentrate on any particular thing, so it makes your mind most creative and
comes up with great ideas. when do you make a piece of art or do some
origami, or come up with some creative idea? If you pay attention to these
things, they all, come up when you are bored and have nothing to do. Boredom
makes your brain creative. Even some studies showed that you act more
altruistic, like donating to a charity or donating blood. When bored not only do you think about yourself but also think about the people around you. We are
always occupied by things around us but not ready to get occupied by our own
thoughts. When you go out for a walk next time leave those earphones and
experience yourself and embrace it.
Getting bored makes you think about yourself, cultivate thoughts about your future goals and help you spend life more
meaningfully.

“Rather than fighting a constant battle against
boredom, it is easier and much more productive if you embrace it”
it’s okay to be bored, next time when you waiting for
something you have to decide whether to pull out your phone or embrace the
boredom. it might seem an insignificant decision but brings unremarkable
change.
If I hadn’t
gotten bored that day in the library, I wouldn’t have come up with this blog.
