G.H Hardy a well-known British mathematician received a letter, which was of 11 pages of complex mathematical theorems. At first, he thought it was another fraud letter he had received. After discussing with one of his colleagues at Cambridge university, he came to the conclusion that this letter was one hell of a genius work.

Back in India, almost a decade before the letter received at Cambridge, a Genius boy was roaming around the streets of Madras, finding it difficult to focus on all subjects of college. even his parents kept a constable to make sure this guy attends his class. The boy went on to fail in his most of subjects and failed to attain a college degree. But one thing about the boy was fascinating, he knew numbers better than any human being. He continued his obsession and wrote many papers and even tried to publish with the help of some mathematicians in India. On the 16th of Jan 1913, he finally wrote a letter to G.H. Hardy.
Hardy wanted to meet This boy and started to make some arrangements to make him arrive at Cambridge, but it almost took 2 years, after that this Boy worked with many Mathematicians to publish many findings, which changed the world of mathematics. On 6 December 1917, He was elected to the London Mathematical Society. On 2 May 1918, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society, At age 31, He was one of the youngest Fellows in the Royal Society's history. he was the first Indian to be elected a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge. The list of achievements is never-ending.

| Do not miss this movie |
You all might have guessed, yes, it is a story of a man who knew infinity! Srinivasa Ramanujan Aiyangar, even a century after his death, many of his works are still not understood completely. He solved many puzzles in mathematics that are used in the field of a complex topics like black holes. What a genius! Even the whole earth couldn’t figure out some of his work for nearly a century.

Great knowledge comes from the humblest of origins.
Being a strict vegetarian, he faced many problems in England. At the age of 32, he died of illness. I wonder how many discoveries he could have done if he lived a little longer. he died at a young age. This is my tribute to the great mathematician on his birth anniversary (22nd December) by telling this story to you all. As you read this story somewhere on the planet, someone is doing research on his work and trying to understand the depths. The man who inspired the era!
Why don’t we know the story of such people? Why his name is not so well known in many countries? Are we consuming the right stories, News? On that note share this with your friends and family and tell them about this man. And celebrate mathematics day meaningfully.
Sort of magic trick the rest of us don't understand -Freeman Dyson (physicist).
Every positive integer was one of Ramnujan's personal friend- John Littlewood.
"my association with him is the one romantic incident in my life"- G.H. Hardy

ReplyDeleteGreat work
ReplyDeleteHappy to see one of my favourites being featured ✨🤗
ReplyDeleteAt first When I was in high school, I saw a postcard of Ramanujan in Mathematics textbook(Picture) . Secondly, I got to know about him from you. But, I was able to relate both the incidents. While I was reading his biography in PUC Mathematics textbook. I was mesmerised after watching the movie. After a long time, today I have been to library. I read an article on him. I feel great to know about him. An inspiration for the generations to come.
ReplyDeletekeep on writing
